As part of his art practice, Ron den Daas created a habitat restoration/ community art project in 2008/09. Working with the North Shore Streamkeepers, Ron engaged his local community in a creative process aimed at examining the environmental forces at play affecting plants, wildlife, and human life alike. The project was funded by the Pacific Salmon Foundation, The North Vancouver Office of Cultural affairs and the City of North Vancouver. The Mackay creek Ecology Community Art Project development website is http://ecosystem/shawwebspace.ca/. This project was documented and has received additional funding from The Pacific Salmon Foundation to produce a broadcast quality documentary film for release in 2010.
